The 3rd brake light on my 2nd Gen Ford Explorer Sport Trac was cracked so I got this one to give it a modern update. The light was packaged well and feels nice and solid.Installation was simple: just remove the existing light and bulbs, and plug the new wires into the corresponding bulb socket. Remembering to apply the new gasket to the light before plugging the wires in makes it easier. Then attach the light using the original screws. There are even little round gadgets for the screws.Since it's LED it's much brighter than the original light. Great find and was about the same price as an OEM style.
If you have this generation of F150, you know the 3rd brake lights are horrible. They fail and they let water into the cab. I have had to replace mine multiple times in my 2007. I got this as another replacement, and it does the job as advertised. Has a good foam seal, fits fine, and is bright. All you can ask from a cheap light. The OEMs do last longer but are not worth it at the much higher price.
I bought this because my Oem third brake light had broke so got this as a replacement and have no regrets plug and play just like I like.
First off, the light's brightness is impressive. It's much more noticeable than the traditional bulbs in grandpas old brake light, Installation was surprisingly easy for my bf. It fit perfectly into the existing space, and the wiring was straightforward you will need to wire this light in. No need for any special tools or skills - just a bit of time and lots of patience!Aesthetically, it adds a modern, sleek look to the vehicle. If I were to offer a suggestion, it's just to double-check compatibility with your vehicle before purchasing. It fitted mine perfectly, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Overall we liked it.
This looks a lot better than the factory 3rd brake light. It is bright and smoke colored. I do recommend this to spruce up your truck. Installing was easy
