Using as 'Spreader Lights' on my boat...

OK.... I've installed them and used them for about an hour so perhaps this is premature. I'll try to update my review in a few months but for now I'm very pleased with these lights.

I bought them to use as 'spreader lights' on my boat. The old ones had plastic housings that completely disintegrated after a year in the sun & weather. The housings on these lights is metal so I'm hopeful that they'll last longer.

Additionally... These are LEDs so I'm certain that the voltage/amperage drain is far less as compared to the old halogen lights.

These lights are BRIGHT! I don't know how far the beam is thrown by these lights but as 'spreaders' used to light up the deck and engine on the boat these produce an amazingly bright, white lite.

Great lights, flimsy mounts.

Just put on my Jeep's front rock bumper. They are more of a flood light than a spot light. But the flood of light is really good. They illuminate way off both shoulders of the road, which I like... especially for seeing deer that are ready to dart across the road.. They also shine up into the tree tops, which I also like. I haven't tried them in the woods yet but I can tell that they are going to be great. Love the whitish/blue color of the lights... Only complaint is the flimsy mounting brackets and the 4 fiddly screws on the mount. I often push through thick brush and saplings when off-roading and these flimsy mounts won't stand a chance. I am going to look into eliminating the flimsy 4-screw mount altogether and just installing a longer bolt thru the bumper into the base of the light. I'm also concerned about moisture condensing inside the lens... Nilight's warranty does say it covers this. I may go ahead and silicone seal them though, as I have done with other similar products. All in all, a really great set of aux lights.

Compared to typical halogen headlights, the difference is night and day.

I installed two 36w 6.5' flood bars on my ATV. These are incredibly bright and work perfectly for illuminating trails in the dark and for general work light applications such as making repairs outdoors at night (I don't have a garage, so I tend to need portable and durable light sorces to get things done when it's dark outside). For these applications these suit my needs perfectly. I anticipate that they will occasionally get wet since my ATV is stored outdoors in a semi-enclosed lean-to with a leaky roof, but probably not as much as they would on an on-road vehicle. They seem to be water resistant enough for the conditions I'll be exposing them to so I'm going to hold off on sealing the lights better with clear silicone sealant as some reviewers have suggested. I will update my review if I notice any issues with condensation in the lenses or burned out bulbs. It's not easy to demonstrate just how bright these lights are in a photo. I would say they are at least 5 times brighter than the stock (halogen) bulbs on my ATV...I would compare them to the LED headlights they're using in automotive applications now. From a distance, the beams cast off from the lights mimick a new BMW or Cadillac (aside from the spacing between them on my small utility ATV). Overall a great product at a great price. I'll be purchasing more in the future for some of my other vehicles.

Good lights. :::I have other Nilight reviews as well:::

36w 6.5' Flood bars: Work good. I actually prefer the 18W 4' flood bars better. These 6.5' bars have quite a light 'halo' that the 18w 4' ones don't, the smaller ones disperse a more even flood. but these 36w are a little bit brighter.

I have used or tested and reviewed the following Nilight LED lights:

–2PC 27W Round Flood: work ok, great price but the 18W 4' Flood bars throw and disperse light better and seem just as bright.
–2PC 27W Round Spot: don't bother. Had them next to the 27W round floods and could not see any difference.
–32' 180W Bar Spot Flood Combo (Double-row LED, Straight): so far it's awesome. great flood at sides and a great bright spot. awesome for the money.
–2PC 18W 4' Flood Bar: work great. highly recommend for bright light for less than +-50 yards.
–2PC 18W 4' Spot Bar: great little spot lights. Mounted on my '02 Tacoma bumper as fog lights wired with my high beams.
–2 piece NI18A-5 5.3' double-row Flood Bar: fairly bright broad flood dispersement, very flat wide beam, good for fog/driving lights. Seem just as bright as 36w 6' bars.

Better than expected

These have been on my boat for a year and have worked really well. They've stood up to all weather and the harsh salty water without any issues. If looking for an easy and affordable light package, these are it.

Great product for the price.

Lights are bright, and simple to install. The seal on them could be better but for what I got them for, it's perfect.

Excellent value and they are bright

Purchased for my Kubota cab tractor to replace front and rear work lights. These lights seem to be a great value and give off excellent bright white light.
